World No. 4 Coco Gauff has shared her thoughts on the demanding tennis schedule, revealing that she is not a big fan of playing multiple two-week tournaments in a row.
“I’m not really keen on playing tournaments that last two weeks consecutively. Fortunately, I’ve reached the quarterfinals here, but if you lose early, you start wondering, ‘What now?’ Two-week events at the start of the year are fine, and they’re okay currently too. But heading into the US Open, you realize you’ve been playing for four weeks yet only participated in two tournaments. That makes a difference as well,” Gauff was quoted as saying by Punto de break.
In the quarterfinals of the Rome tournament, Gauff will face Russian player Mirra Andreeva, who recently defeated Belgian Elise Mertens.
