Avangard’s general manager Alexei Sopin has outlined the club’s plans for roster adjustments ahead of the new KHL season. The team recently lost to Lokomotiv in the Gagarin Cup semifinals.
“We don’t want any revolutions; we’re at a stage where pinpoint changes are needed,” Sopin said. “We’ve identified which positions require reinforcement, and we’ll try to do that without causing stress or a major overhaul. We’re in talks with players whose contracts are ending. The process is ongoing. I’d rather not name names yet to avoid any possible complications. We have two or three weeks to discuss their future with Avangard.”
